Seniors Lead - The National Senior Volunteer Network

Seniors Lead is a national volunteer initiative for senior citizens, operated by the IACC in partnership with the Ministry for Social Equality.

The program runs in 140 local authorities, with 17,000 senior volunteers who work to strengthen communities and social resilience.

The program’s peer training model provides professional development and practical tools for meaningful community engagement.

Program tracks include:

  • Education - Volunteering in daycare centers, preschools, schools, and community centers.
  • Resilience - Training facilitators to lead personal resilience workshops for seniors, participating in municipal emergency response frameworks, and recruiting volunteers for specialized missions with the Israel Police.
  • Community Initiatives - Leading local social projects initiated and run by senior citizens.
  • Tekuma - Strengthening the volunteer network of seniors in the southern region of Israel affected October 7.
  • Arab Society - Implementing programs to promote volunteerism within Arab communities.
  • Traveling Community - A network of travel clubs for seniors, led by volunteer coordinators.
  • Help a Soldier - Assisting economically disadvantaged soldiers to find employment during their military service.
  • Seniors Connect – Smartphone training for senior citizens, to promote digital independence.
  • Hebrew Conversation Circles – Meetings between veteran Hebrew-speaking volunteers and adult immigrants to improve spoken Hebrew.
