No Torah study tonight – Tish B'Av events

9th of Av

"Tonight No Torah Study" events are held at the community centers of the Society for Community Centers on the eve of Tishrei B'Av, by the Sderot Conference for Society and Education, in cooperation with the Society for Community Centers and the Kay Academic College of Education in Be'er Sheva.

This year, the event was also held under the auspices of the President's House's "Exchanging Words in the Community" project, which aims to increase the ability to contain and manage fundamental disagreements, to heal and restore the spirit, and to emerge together from the fragments to jointly build the next chapter of Israeli society.

This year, the events will be under the theme: "Together the Tribes of Israel?!", against the backdrop of the ongoing war and the social and political crisis the country has been going through recently. As part of the event, panels and discussion circles are being held at various locations across the country, with hundreds of Israelis participating.

In each of the communities, prominent figures representing a variety of opinions and perspectives in Israeli society gather together, with the aim of conducting a deep and substantive discourse. The goal of the evening is to reflect the complexity of Israeli society at this time, while corresponding with the significance of 9th of Av as a day of national devastation and reckoning.
