Celebrating Summer, Community and Belonging

Approximately 180 participants and staff members from IACC’s Re’im Program came together for a special summer event at Migdal Tzedek National Park in Rosh HaAyin.

The event was a joint initiative of IACC’s Department for People with Disabilities and the Sports and Healthy Lifestyle Department, in partnership with Telma – Families of Champions. The collaboration reflects a shared approach that sees physical activity, meaningful leisure and social connection as essential elements of quality of life and community belonging.

Participants from the Re’im Program – teenagers and adults on the autism spectrum and people with complex learning disabilities – were joined by coordinators, facilitators and staff from IACC’s Central and Southern Districts, Telma employees and IACC management. Throughout the day, participants enjoyed music, yoga, Nia, playback theatre, dance and movement workshops, all designed to encourage active leisure, wellbeing and social interaction. The event concluded with music and a festive group dance party.

For many participants, a nationwide gathering like this is about much more than a summer celebration. It offers an opportunity to step outside the familiar routine, meet new people, expand social circles and experience a broader sense of community and belonging. These are the moments that reflect the heart of the Re’im Program – creating meaningful opportunities for connection, participation and inclusion.
