The Department of Senior Citizens of the Society for Community Centers is a body whose goal is to enable community centers to provide a comprehensive response to the needs of veterans in their community. The department strengthens community centers in their activities to improve the status of veterans in the community. All this while
Maintaining their quality of life and well-being by strengthening their active participation, their connection to others, and creating value and meaning in their activities through a wide variety of programs, initiatives, and activities of peer groups, multi-generational activities, and volunteering.


The department works to make programs in community centers flexible in order to be relevant to veterans in varying functional status and over the years.


Department goals
1. Professionalism of the teams – professional training and peer learning of the teams of professionals in the community centers.
2.Developing solutions and programs that will enhance the tailored response to veterans
3. Creating partnerships with companies, organizations and programs to ensure the promotion of optimal aging.
4. Establishing the place of community centers as one of the central bodies in the activity and building of veteran and multi-age communities in the inclusion and building of solutions for veterans and for them at the national level and within the framework of local government.
5. Expanding the circle of participants, partners, activists and volunteers among veterans at the local, regional and national levels
