Israeli Association of Community Centers - EST. 1969
The Israel Association of Community Centers (IACC) is the leading social organization in Israel, with a mission to build strong and sustainable local communities that contribute to a robust and progressive society. The IACC operates a national network of over 1,000 community centers from Metula to Eilat, and serves over 1.5 million residents weekly, in approximately 151 local municipalities with an emphasis on the social and geographical periphery, touching all sectors and populations of Israeli society.
The IACC created a new language and image for community centers. While they once were only a place where youngsters occasionally came to play sports, today the community center is a focal point for communal, social, recreational, and cultural activities based on a vision that encompasses residents, the local government, and the business community all working together to meet community needs.
Additionally, the IACC serves and creates tailor-made programming for the entire Israeli population; regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, including multiple inclusive programming for both the mentally and physically differently-abled populations.
