A group of senior representatives from the FC Barcelona Foundation, which supports underprivileged children and youth through sports and education, visited the IACC's Community Center in the city of Lod.
Representatives from the IACC and the Barca Foundation met at the Arab-Jewish community center in Ramat Eshkol, in order to get an impression of the activities that promote shared life between the various sectors and populations in Israeli society and to examine possibilities of collaboration with the IACC.
The Barca Foundation's leaders were introduced to the mixed youth groups such as those in the Bak'a A-Turi community center in Jerusalem as well as in Acco and Lod. In addition, they heard about the Lod's Ethiopian community's journey to Israel and visited the 'Peace Triangle' (The mosque, church and synagogue in the old city).
According to Chairman Aviad Friedman: 'Good things begin with a dream. At every IACC's community center we hold joint activities for Jewish and Arab children;
The Barcelona Foundation heard about our activities and decided to come here and see for themselves, and that is how the opportunity for collaboration was created. In my dreams I see many Israeli children wearing Barcelona shirts and playing together.'
